For our struggles in life is not just with human frailty; we are not just contending against flesh and blood, but also against the principalities, against the powers, against the evil that bedevil this world, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (cf. Luke 6:1-5, Ephesians 6:12, John 13:30)

For this reason, we must endeavour to take the whole armour of God (cf. Ephesians 6:11) which is simply, to ponder on, and to live out God’s word in our world today (cf. Ephesians 6:14-18). This is how to ensure that the spirit of Jesus—the spirit of God abides within us (cf. John 14:15-21-23, Ephesians 4:30-31), inducing us to triumph over this evil (cf. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16, Luke 6:31-37, Ephesians 6:10-20), and to usher in the glorious splendour of God’s reign in our lives and in our world. (cf. Psalm 145:10-12).
