GOD who brought all things into existence by simply saying: “Let there be…” (Genesis 1:1-31), is also abundantly able to redeem the world simply by saying: “Let all things be restored”! But he chose in love to be like us in all things but sin (cf. Hebrews 4:14-15), so as to encourage us by his own examples as we struggle on towards eternity. His life is a practical guide on how to appropriate for oneself the free gift of salvation (cf. Psalm 68:4-11, Matthew 11:29, Philippians 2:1-12, John 13:12-17, Matthew 16:21-24); made possible through his death and resurrection (cf. 1 Corinthians 15:3, Romans 4:25-5:2).

Consequently, we are being encouraged to eschew pride and arrogance; but to develop a meek and humble disposition after the example of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (cf. Matthew 11:29). Who “emptied himself” of his divine glory, became like us to save us (cf. Philippians 2:1-12).

Let us strive then to be like him for in his life, we see the light of eternal life (cf. Psalm 36:9, Sirach 3:17-29, Hebrews 12:18-24, Luke 14:1-14).
