God’s direct intervention in human history through the incarnation, birth and mission of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, was the turning point in human history. Since then, human history has being accounted for in terms of before the Christ event (B.C) and/or after the Christ event (A.D). This critically important, and should always make us to reflect on our response to the unmerited gift of life that we have all received.
Before his direct intervention in our history, God prepared. First, he prepared and raised up prophets to conscientize us (Jeremiah 23:5-8). Second, he prepared the Virgin Mary as a fitting ark for himself (Matthew 1:20-21). And third, he prepared Joseph as a suitable social protection for his own infancy (Matthew 1:18-24). He made all these preparations and brought himself low, just to save us!
But are we preparing, or prepared ourselves to be saved?
