“I am holding you by the right hand; I tell you, ‘Do not be afraid, I will help you.’” (Isaiah 41:13). Those words from the prophet Isaiah reassures us of God’s deep love and commitment to us, and to aiding us in our situation(s).

But you may be thinking that God may have forgotten about your situation, but you are wrong; he has not. Just as he knew Jacob as “poor worm”, and Israel as “puny mite”, God knows you for who you are. He knows your deepest yearnings. He knows your challenges, and he is assuring you of his help (Isaiah 41:14).

You can be sure of his help even now because he has done it before and continues to do it again. The birth and ministry of John the Baptist heralded God’s direct intervention as man in our human experience which culminated in the life and ministry of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:11-15).

May we then avail ourselves of his kindness and compassion (Psalm 144(145):9) by submitting totally to him and allowing him to help us so that we may flourish unto eternity (Isaiah 41:17-19).
