As we gradually come to the end of the Christian Church year and the beginning of another, our readings calls us to reflect on our own life’s last moments on our way to eternity.
Hence, when death comes, will we be like King Belshazzar in enmity with God and/or under the influence of some substance; pale faced and horror-stricken on account of the mirroring of our lives back to us, and the consequences following it? (Daniel 5:1-6,13-14,16-17,23-28). Or shall we be among those whom the Lord Jesus Christ will rise up in their defence with eloquence and wisdom, without the loss of a single hair of their head in eternity?
The time to decide is now.
