[1.] Proverbs 21:1-13 [2.] Psalm 119:1-44 (Response to the Previous)
[3.] Luke 11:28 (Summary of the Gospel of the Day) [4.] Luke 8:19-21 (Gospel of the Day)

OUR ALLEGIANCE TO THE WORD OF GOD, is to be placed high above all other considerations, including the ties of flesh and blood! (cf. Luk.8:19-21, Luk.11:27-28, Luk.14:26-33-35). And having put his mission on earth in proper perspective, Jesus is also by this statement, presenting his mother, Mary as a model for all to learn from on how to have allegiance to (hear and act on) God’s Word (cf. Luk.8:21, Luk.1:38, Luk.2:15-19*, Luk.2:48-51*, Joh.2:1-5*, Joh.19:25-27).

Thus like the mother of Jesus, we too must be docile to God’s Word. And in the words of the author of the books of Proverbs, “Like a stream is the king’s heart in the hand of the Lord; wherever it pleases Him, He directs it.” (cf. Pro.21:1ff, Psa.119:1-44). This must be our disposition to God’s Word.

And “You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us” – 2 Corinthians 9:11
