[1.] Numbers 21:4-9     [2.] Psalm 78:1-38 (Response to the Previous)
[3.] Philippians 2:6-11     [4.] John 3:13-17 (Gospel of the Day)

Overwhelmed by the challenges of life, we often become “impatient”; impatient with ourselves, impatient with one another, and also at times, impatient with God. And being overwhelmed, we often offend (sin against) one another, and our God (cf. Numbers 21:4-9). This is precisely the reason for the Incarnation; this is precisely the reason for the cross.

God became like us to show us an example of how to live out life’s challenges, the proper disposition we must have, and to take away our guilt, by becoming what we have become, in other to make us what he is (cf. Phi.2:6-11, Gal.3:13, 2Cor.5:21, 2Cor.8:9). This he has done, through his holy cross (cf. Joh.3:13-15, Num.21:8-9), and he demands that we do the same (cf. Luk.9:22-25, Psa.78:1-38).

And “You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us” – 2 Corinthians 9:11
