CALLED TO BEAR GOOD FRUIT

Tuesday, September 06, 2016

[1.] 1Corinthians 6:1-11     [2.] Psalm 149:1-9 (Response to the Previous)
[3.] John 15:16 (Summary of Gospel of the Day)     [4.] Luke 6:12-19 (Gospel of the Day)

Like the twelve apostles, we have all been called, each one of us (cf. Mat.22:8-9, Rev.3:20) and those of us who have accepted His call, have been chosen to spread this good news, to propagate this call to be fruitful, to bear good fruit in keeping with repentance, which is, to love genuinely (cf. Luk.6:12-19, Mat.3:8, Mat.28:18-20, Rom.12:9-11, Joh.15:12-16*-17).

To help us establish our situation in this regard, let us now proceed to answer for ourselves the following questions. How have I responded to His call; have I been rejecting it? (cf. 1Cor.6:9-10, Mat.22:1-3*-6). Or have I accepted His call but not serious about the demands to yield the needed results? (cf. 1Cor.1-8, Mat.7:16-23, Mat.22:11-13).

So dear friend, if we have discovered that we have not responded adequately to His call, let us then quickly re/attach ourselves to His Word that we may begin to bear good fruits, for his delight is in those he has chosen as his own, and will crown (us) his faithful with salvation (cf. Joh.15:4, Psa.33:12, Joh.15:16, Psa.149:4).
