MY DEAR FRIEND, a battle between good and evil rages on, and we are right in the middle of it (cf. Rev.12:12,17, 1Cor.15:24-26). But like Mary, mother of Jesus Christ our Lord, let us be of good cheer for God is our saviour (cf. Luk.1:46b-47, Rev.12:10-11, 1Cor.15:20-23).
Like Samuel’s Mother, Hannah (1Sam.2:1-10), Mary (the mother of Jesus Christ, Son of God) glorified God (cf. Luk.1:39-56) for what he was doing for her and for the world through her, by the Incarnation – The Word, God took on human nature in her womb that we might be saved (cf. Joh.1:1-4, 10:30, Luk.1:28,35,38-45, Rev.11:19 – 12:1-11). Her only desire was to do God’s will, and knowing that of herself she can do nothing, she humbled herself (cf. Luk.1:34,38,48-49, Rev.12:5-6), and for this she has received everlasting glory (cf. Luk.1:28,41-45,48). Let us then learn from her example(s) that we too may also enter into eternal glory (cf. Luk.23:39-43).
