MY DEAR FRIEND, faith implies keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. This is the essence of Christianity – allegiance to Jesus Christ which takes precedence over every other relationship (cf. Luk.12:49-53). Doing this will not be easy (cf. Jer.38:1-6, Heb.12:3a, Luk.12:49-53), but anything less than this is a form of idolatry (cf. Exo.20:1-6, Joh.21:15a).

DEAR FRIEND, we must strive to have our eyes fixed on Jesus (cf. Heb.12:2,3a-3b) even in the midst of the challenges that must arise as we try to give authentic witness. Let the lesson and example of the “huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith” inspire us to persevere and remain with the truth (cf. Jer.38:1-10). For we must fear only the one who can cast both body and soul into hell (cf. Mat.10:28), and our perseverance will win for us eternal life (cf. Luk.21:19, Psa.40, Jer.38:7-10).

Keep y(our) eyes fixed on Jesus.
