CHILD-LIKE FAITH

MY DEAR FRIEND, obviously Jesus’ disciples had not taken to heart his earlier teaching concerning children (cf. Mat.18:4-6, Mat.19:13-15) just as we often do. We all need to cultivate child-like faith in God, to be dependent on him just as little children are on their parents, for without him we cannot bear any fruit worthy of eternal life (cf. Joh.15:4-5).

Consequently, there is a great need to have a changed life (cf. Eze.18:4*,30-32*), but by ourselves we cannot; we need to dispose ourselves for the Holy Spirit to change us (Psa.51:10-12), by humbly cooperating (just like little children to their parents) with God’s grace (cf. Eze.18:23,32).
